Eunice
Eunice, a Greek mythological figure, one of the Nereids (sea nymphs), they symbolised everything that is beautiful and kind about the sea. Eunice is a conceptual women’s footwear store. The concept of this store took the idea from its name which was the ocean.
I imaged store interior as a backdrop of deep ocean, and the products(shoes) were colourfulsea creatures. I wanted to have something to represent waves also to create a bit mystical, like peeking through see plants. Because of the space height (3390mm) gave enough ceiling area, I decided to have these massive pattens weaved above the store. The furnishing and display systems were integrated into each wave which were placed at the centre of store. For example, one end was a chair and the other end was
a shelf. I designed two other display systems as well. Flower, a table display. Petals, a adjustable wall display. They were both representing some kind of plants or objects in deep sea. I also used mirror, glasses and semi transparent material on some of the “waves” to create refraction effects.
They were showed on mirrors in the store and the shop front (which was pieced together by different shape glasses). They gave audience an illusion, the objects were
flipped or bent like when you look at them through water.
The branding took colour scheme from the brand. Dark blue as a backdrop colour like deep sea, accompanied with various shades of light blues to bring up contrast. As it showed on floor plan, the layout is
symmetrical, to keep a simple circulation
for customers despite the complex
pattern above.
As much as it seemed like a crazy idea. This project was for me to practice and challenge my 3Ds Max and AutoCAD skills. I just learned AutoCAD 2D and was fi guring out AutoCAD 3D as I drew the model from sketch.
The “waves” were created in AutoCAD then working further in 3Ds Max.
