Sopra
Sopra is a conceptual kitchen and cookware store. The location was set in a warehouse building in Waterloo, Sydney.
Sopra’s products reflect simple and homey,
having that in mind, the concept of the store was to keep it authentic.
For the space, I kept exposed brick walls and open ceiling from the building itself.
The concrete fl oor was replaced with timber to soften the look, it would also create a nice
sound when customers walk on it.
For display, natural materials such as timber tables, barrels, metal shelves and bamboo baskets were used to maintain the concept
of authentic.
The branding was blended into the store
with chalk boards, tote bags and branded wooden display boxes. Above the centre display area were two light fixtures which were surrounded by clamped recipes.
They were not only drew the attention to centre display, but also gave this busy yet organised kitchen atmosphere.
Even this was a conceptual store for a group assignment of a class. However it was a good practice for me to work with a real site.
The lecture took us to the warehouse building, and we measured the space and took photos
as reference. Using these information we gathered, we rendered a 3D model of the building and divided different areas to each person worked with their own design.
